Investment

My prices are simple. I start at just $65 for a session. I'm based out of Omaha, Nebraska and have reasonable travel fees as I love to travel! Sessions can be a large extended family photo, or a small newborn session. All sessions include digital rights to photos, available to you as a high quality download (mini session and package #1) or CD (all other packages), with all reprinting rights. See other packages below:

*The above sessions include 1 location, location changes start at $20
*Sessions canceled less than 48 hours in advance have a $25 cancellation fee
**Request cover photos and extra edits from C.D via email after receiving your disc

The only thing I vary on slightly are weddings. Weddings start at $90 an hour for weddings, with a 4 hour minimum. (Weddings do vary to include extra equipment, a second photographer, travel, desired edits, etc.)

The exception to the wedding pricing is weddings where I will be there an hour or less. This is to accommodate courthouse weddings, and elopements. I'm happy to keep the regular sessions fee for small events such as those (my husband and I did the same thing!) Weddings require more editing time, which is the reason for the higher charges.

Need more photos, more time, more edits? Just let me know and we can work out something that fits with your plan.

Ready for your session? Here are a few answers to a number of questions I get asked:

What do I wear?

*Wear Color! Photos are usually in nature, and the more color the better!
*Go for Patterns! Don't be afraid of wearing neat patterns, they add (not distract) from photos
*Dress like yourself and what you’re most comfortable in!

What do I bring?
Bring anything you want in your photos! I love props, and love getting creative with them. Feel free to bring pets, sentimental items, outfit changes, hats, or neat things you've picked up at the thrift store. Let me know when we meet for your session what all you've brought with you, and let me know if you had a way you wanted to incorporate it into your session!

Prints

There is a huge retail markup on professional photography prints, so I give my clients their photos digitally, with release, to print as you'd like. It saves you money by going directly to the printer source, rather than through me. When you print directly, the turnaround time is quicker, and you can print, share and do whatever you'd like with your photos.

I suggest Mpix for printing, its a good quality printing website. They have not paid me for promoting their printing, from experience, it is great quality! For a little cheaper option, I've also had good luck at Costco from personal experience. Just make sure wherever you print you un-click the "auto correct" box that is often selected as a default when printing online. I do not recommend Walgreens, Target or CVS as their printing services are low quality

Baby J was welcomed into our studio this winter, and what a doll she is! We loved capturing her with specifically "no pink" per her daddy's request!

Tips for Better Cell Phone Photos

This is a post for all you moms out there that are looking for a few easy tricks to taking better photos of your little ones on your smartphone! As you may know, I don't have little humans running around our place, so I decided to use my favorite subjects...our too cats! Meet Lady Grey and Gallifrey!  Here are a few useful tips to learn to take better cell phone photos of your little ones!  Try different angles. Get down to their level, make them look all the way up at you. Try something new! You don't always need to just take a photo straight on!  Face them towards a light. If possible use natural light. Phones aren't great with backlighting, that is sitting a subject we're behind them is your primary light source. Photographers can shoot directly into the sun, phone's not so much. Try placing them towards a window or opening the front door.  (left photo with the light behind Lady Grey, right photo where she is looking at the window)  ...

Baby H: 1 Year

This gorgeous little girl has grown up so much over the past year. She will be one very soon, and it seems like yesterday I was taking her newborn photos. This evening this little sweetie was giggling, bouncing and smiling the whole time I was snapping photos. She was so easy to get to smile, and did such a wonderful job looking her naturally pretty self!
