Fresh 48

What is a Fresh 48 session? Well if you're expecting, these are some of the my client's favorite photos! Fresh 48 means that we photograph when the baby is "fresh" (within the first 48 hours of birth).  I come to visit you, camera in hand, and take photos of you and your little one as a celebration of bringing life into the world.

These are not a traditional newborn session where there are lots of poses, props and lights. These are designed to capture your baby's first moments in a natural way! We keep it all very simple and embrace the surroundings of your baby's birth. There are treasured details like hospital bracelets, that we make sure to leave in the photos.

Location: The session will take place wherever you give birth, whether that is a hospital, home, or birthing center. This is designed for you to feel comfortable and relaxed.

Outfits: Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in, typically outfits without logos look the best.

What to Bring: You do not need to bring anything with you to your session. However, you are welcome to bring items if you'd like. Simple is better, a special blanket, outfit or sign.

Who Can Come?: Anyone is welcome to be there for photos, friends, siblings, grandparents etc.

How do we Schedule? Contact me if you're expecting and interested! We play things by ear since these events often cannot be planned. I do want you to reach out to me as soon as decided to use Lady Grey Photography, that way we can rearrange schedules if we plan to be booked in full that week.

Zavier- 1 year

This weekend was the last of Zavier's photos for his first year! I've been photographing this little guy every couple months since he was in his mommy's tummy....and it has been so fun to watch him grow! The basketball themed photo shoot this weekend was the perfect way to celebrate turning one year old!

Tips for Better Cell Phone Photos

This is a post for all you moms out there that are looking for a few easy tricks to taking better photos of your little ones on your smartphone! As you may know, I don't have little humans running around our place, so I decided to use my favorite subjects...our too cats! Meet Lady Grey and Gallifrey!  Here are a few useful tips to learn to take better cell phone photos of your little ones!  Try different angles. Get down to their level, make them look all the way up at you. Try something new! You don't always need to just take a photo straight on!  Face them towards a light. If possible use natural light. Phones aren't great with backlighting, that is sitting a subject we're behind them is your primary light source. Photographers can shoot directly into the sun, phone's not so much. Try placing them towards a window or opening the front door.  (left photo with the light behind Lady Grey, right photo where she is looking at the window)  ...
