Natural Light Photographer

I consider myself a natural light photographer. What does that mean? It means I use the natural light around me to take wonderful photos. You wont see my hauling in large lights and other equipment into our session. If we are doing an indoor session, you'll see me open the windows and doors to let all the beautiful light from outside in to brighten your photos.  Why do I love natural light? It allows you to be mobile, work quickly and move around to capture gorgeous photos. I also love the way natural light looks on your face. Its not fake and the photo ends up looking like something that your eye naturally sees.  Whenever possible, I encourage clients to go outside for photos to get the most natural light available. If a client wants a warm sunset session, then we schedule the session closer to sunset. If they want a bright sunrise glow, we schedule our session at sunrise. I'm very aware of the weather, the time of day, and the sun when we are having sessions. We loo

Photography 101

I love photography, and I love how accessible digital SLR cameras are now. So many families now have good cameras, but don't know how to use them without Auto! Learning to take photos on Manual mode will change your photography dramatically, and you'll be able to tell the difference quickly!  I'm now offering one-on-one classes for just $35. If you want to bring a friend, together it will be just $55 for the two of you! If you're a mom or dad and want to bring a couple kids along for your model, go ahead! Its a great opportunity to take a few photos of the kiddos! How does it work? We will meet at a park, home, etc. and discuss a few of the basics and you can get going! I'll walk you through things you may have questions about and give you some great tools to keep learning and practicing!  What will you learn? I go over a few of the basics with you. We talk about ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture. We will discuss light and the basics to making the most

Lady Grey Photography

After about a year of debating changing the name of my photography business, it finally happened! Today I decided it was time to start the process of switching over everything to our new name, Lady Grey Photography! Why The Name Change? The change was decided because quite frankly...I'm not longer Kitty Vogt. I was married over a year ago, and changed my name not long after. I've still held my business in my maiden name, but decided it was time for a change! Also, as my husband, Kevin, assists more with our photography business I hope to include him more in the future. Kevin is my second photographer for larger events, and with his degree in Graphic Design, spent time teaching me photoshop many years ago. He has been a huge asset to our business, and I look forward to Kevin becoming more involved! Why Lady Grey? You may not know...but Kevin and I have one true love in this world (other than each other) Our love came to us last summer, when we brought home a new li

Baby C

This past month has been full of little baby photo sessions! This little girl is just over 1 week old, and simply precious! Baby C was wide awake during most of her session, but she did doze off a few times to get some perfectly angelic photos of her napping. Her brother did such an amazing job with this little girl, his parents should be proud!

The M Family

The M Family had the perfect day for a family photo session! One of the perks to photo session in another state, like Colorado, is we get to try new venues for sessions. This location was picked out by the M Family, and it worked out just perfectly! The dynamic brother-sister team did awesome in their siblings photos as well as the family photos. Hoping to make it back to Colorado soon to line up even more sessions!

Baby N

This little girl is the cutest little baby in the whole state of Colorado (possibly the world!) We went to Colorado to visit my husband's family, and had the pleasure of meeting his cousin's new baby girl. We spent about 30 minutes together, and she was fighting sleep the whole time (and eventually gave in near the end when I had the pleasure of holding her).  Extremely glad I was able to meet this sweet little girl!

Baby E: 1 Week

Its been about a week since this little darling is born. Throughout the week I've been meeting with her mother to take photos of this little girl. Baby sessions are always a surprise, you never know if they will be napping or wide awake. This little sweetie slept through most of her sessions.  She is an absolute doll, and I look forward to watching her grow up!

Baby H: 1 Year

This gorgeous little girl has grown up so much over the past year. She will be one very soon, and it seems like yesterday I was taking her newborn photos. This evening this little sweetie was giggling, bouncing and smiling the whole time I was snapping photos. She was so easy to get to smile, and did such a wonderful job looking her naturally pretty self!

Kid J: 3 Years

I've had the pleasure of watching this client grow up and gain such a bubbly fun personality! He is now 3 years old and we went out for a short session to document his growth. He was full of energy and such a pleasure to photograph. During our session, "J" searched for birds, planes, squirrels, and other fun things to keep us entertained and smiling the whole session!
